This week I'm making... Screen Printed Fabric

So for once in a lifetime, my weekend plans went to plan! I made Welsh cakes, learned how to screen print, and got some knitting done.

I'll save the recipe for another day, and move on to more important things: My First Screen Print! Here's how I did it...

{First we exposed the prepared screen for 1.5hrs}
{Then we washed off the unwanted emulsion, which took a loooooong time. Yep, that's the shower hose}
{When it was dry again, we covered up the bits we didn't want, and put LOTS of paint on the screen. Purple! Yay!}
{Then we scraped the paint across the screen 3-4 times}
{Ta da! My logo on some fabric! I'd like one on a bag, and maybe a cushion for Button... What do you think?}
{I had a bit of touching up to do where the screen hadn't quite covered}
{Got out my trusty hairdryer (bog standard impatient crafter move) to make sure it was nice and dry}

{And ironed the design to secure it!}
I had brought along a prepared cushion cover ready for printing, but as you can imagine, this level of preparation was a temptation too great for the craft Gods. So all of my prints worked... Except the one on the prepared cushion. Oh well! I still feel like I won overall.

I think I'll be making some bags with the logo on, and perhaps a cushion or two. Or tea towels, or posters, or project bags... Gah! The possibilities are endless! I'd like to reserve a few for a future giveaway, and send some out to my most loyal customers as a thank you for their continued support.

I wonder if one will be on it's way to you? ;)

(I owe a BIG THANK YOU for all the help and patience I got from Vicky of ScienceIsComingToTown for showing me how it all works!)
