{Handmade Christmas} Paper Snowflake Decorations

I love a good bit of paper craft, so when I saw these awesome stars at my friends house, I thought I'd make some for my own house and share how I'm making them with you!

First of all you'll need scissors, 6 squares of equal sized paper, glue and a stapler...

Take each sheet and fold it in half diagonally...

Then in half again...

Use the scissors to cut as many slits as you like into the shape, it depends on the size of the paper, as to what looks good...

Open it out...

And get gluing!

Each layer should bend in the opposite direction...

You can use it like this, as a hanging decoration, but if you want a star...

Get out the stapler and staple them together in three's,

Then altogether in the middle. To stop it sagging when you hang it, staple each outer layer to the outer layer next to it...

And ta daa! A beautiful paper star hanging decoration for your window, tree, mantlepiece, anywhere! I made mine from 14cm x 14cm squares. The bigger the paper, the bigger the star, so go crazy and make them in loads of sizes. You need to be able to bend the paper, so card might be too stiff, but any bendable paper will do.

As soon as I started making mine, real snowflakes started falling!

Have fun crafting,

  2. Try them in loads of sizes! Looks really effective. Smaller than 10cm squares is tricky, but doable if you've got the patience.
