Hello again, I ended up at another gliding competition this past week all the way down in Lasham near Basingstoke, which as it turns out, is a very long drive from Edinburgh...
It was quite a culture shock, like being on a different continent, never mind a different country! I'd forgotten what it was like to live in England, either flag splitting sun or pouring rain, and supermarkets shut at 4pm on weekends... This lead to a few less than amazing emergency dinners before we learned our lesson.
The sky didn't really play fair that week so there were a couple of scrub days, we even got a few lightening storms!
After a minor oil fire related fireball, and "burnt on the outside-frozen on the inside" camp stove dinners we gave up on stoves altogether and had BBQ dinners or bought dinner at the clubhouse.
Fireballs and lightening storms aside, it was a good week with some fun fields. It was nice seeing some old faces too, but I'm still glad I'm back in Edinburgh and sleeping in a proper bed! I spent a lot of time wishing I'd brought some knitting, so now that I'm home I'm going to catch up on crafting!
